Flavor \Fla"vor\, n. [OF. fleur, flaur (two syllables), odor,
cf. F. fleurer to emit an odor, It. flatore a bad odor, prob.
fr. L. flare to bow, whence the sense of exhalation. Cf.

fragrances; as, the flavor of a rose.
